Shankar Ehsaan Loy have been spinning some really good tracks lately for Bollywood soundtracks. Luck By Chance was a really good soundtrack they came up with since Dil Chahta Hai. I agree they have been making good music in between too but I could somehow relate the virgin melodies in the two soundtracks. Moving on, 13B is an upcoming Bollywood horror flick starring R.Madhavan and Neetu Chandra in lead roles. I managed to catch the 13B trailer during the screening of a movie and found it quite interesting. The music of 13B is out in the market. It has been composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Neelesh Misra has worked on the lyrics for the soundtrack. Does it pass the acid test? Continue reading “Music Review- 13B”
Zeest has released their second song titled 100 Rupai on their official website. Zeest topped the popularity charts in the Indian-subcontinent underground music scene with their previous track BC Sutta. The new single is believed to have been postponed for quite a long time. It is available for a free download at Zeestmania.
The track doesn’t include any profanity as expected. The lyrics are good and the music is simple. A decent track for the current economic slowdown across the globe. A song that fits the situation we’re into right now.
India’s biggest inter-college competetion for rock bands is back on the billboards. Currently in the 5th season, Campus Rock Idols is one huge platform for various college rock bands mushrooming across the country to showcase their skills on the national channel. The contest begins at the city level and grows into regional channels and then eventually on the huge national platter. The winners attain the title of ‘Campus Rock Idols’ along with a cool cash prize of Rs. 75,000. The winning rock band also gets an opportunity to open for an International rock act as and when it happens in India. Now that’s something worth getting yourself killed for!

Seems like AR Rahman’s fans think I really hate him. I just look for quality in music folks. So on the Delhi-6 page at Wikipedia someone mentions;
HarryJerry also praised the album saying “Finally a decent enough soundtrack from A.R Rahman. Good job Rahman. This springs up some hope for 2009. Still not an award winning performance but decent enough to top the charts for some time.”
Whoa! I can’t wait to see my name on the music CDs. And someone tell me why is WordPress reviewing music! 😛
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is will strike back in Bollywood with Delhi-6 after his blockbuster flick Rang De Basanti took a nation by surprise. Delhi-6 (earlier titled Dilli 6) will star Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Om Puri in the lead roles. The music has been composed by A.R Rahman. The lyrics have been penned down by Prasoon Joshi. Currently a song from the soundtrack titled Masakalli is running in the promos on national television. According to me A.R Rahman had a hard time creating some fine music in 2008 with some major disappointments. Delhi-6 is Rahman’s first Bollywood soundtrack in 2009. Let’s hope this one turns out good. Read on for the music review of Delhi-6.
So Indian music composer A.R Rahman won a Golden Globe award for composing the soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire and the proud Indian media went on like nuts. Winning a Golden Globe award is of course something big but dude, does Rahman deserve this one? I don’t think so.

Yeh dil pighla ke saaz bana loon,
dhadkan ko awaz bana loon,
smoking smoking nikle re dhooan.
Seene mein jalti hai armanon ki arthi,
Arrey what to tell you darling kya hua.
Arrey sapne dekhe jannat ke,
par mitti mein mil jaen,
phooken re ghar baar ki duniya..
ko bole good bye..
Chad jae haye Allah,
jisko bhi yeh bukhaar,
I think Anurag Kashyap is a brilliant film maker and I also think that Abhay Deol has risen from the ashes. So when both the A’s come together on a brilliant little concept of modern day version of the epic Devdas it’s not surprising that the hype surrounding the project would be maximum. After watching the promos of Dev D recently and digging up information about the movie all over the web, my money is on this flick!
Soundtrack is as essential in Bollywood as shopping is to women. I think a soundtrack works like a first impression of the movie. My statistics say that one is bound to watch a movie whose music sounds good. Although movies like Dev D don’t need to prove themselves but the Patna Ke Presleys starring in the song everyone is talking about, Emotional Atyachar, is a clear signal that Anurag Kashyap means business. The music has been composed by Amit Trivedi and take my word for it, it’s one hell of a ride. Come let’s check it out and listen for yourself!
