Golmaal is still so fresh in my mind like it just released last weekend. I heard they were coming up with a sequel and bang! They’ve already released the music yesterday. Is it that time is passing by too fast or is it just my lazy ass?! Anyways lets not dig into deeper issues and talk about the music. Golmaal Returns stars Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Tushar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi and Amrita Arora. Now that’s a lot of actors. Golmaal Returns soundtrack has been composed by Pritam. The music for Golmaal was composed by Vishal Shekhar. Will the movie be as good as Golmaal is a far away thing, right now it’s time to check out if the music lives up to those catchy Golmaal expectations.
Tracks
Tha Kar Ke
Vacancy
Tu Saala
Meow
Meow (English Version)
Vacancy (Kilogram Version)
Tha Kar Ke (Remix)
Meow (Remix)
Vacancy (Remix)
Tu Saala (Remix)
The soundtrack comprises of four songs, two English versions of songs and remixes of all the songs. The plain old Bollywood mantra for soundtracks. Create a few songs and then remix them. This way you double up the number of tracks and ease some pain off from DJs. Tha Kar Ke sung by Neeraj Shridhar aims to get in the queue of catchy numbers. It fails. The lyrics are just as bad as the music in the background. Sorry Pritam but you can never be good at creating catchy numbers. The next track Vacancy includes the popular Golmaal tune with permission from Vishal Shekhar. This song somehow eases the headache the first track gets you into. Tu Saala by Anushka Manchanda is got to be a chick track. Oh! They’ve got Kareena too. Perfect track featuring the kind of chicks in the movie. Three tracks into the soundtrack and you really wanna pull out your earphones. Meow is the next track, makes me wanna shout out Yukkkkk!!!! Irritated, I quit! The music is hopeless.
Oh! By the way they’ve got the Golmaal tracks as bonus in the CD. You could listen to those and skip the main ones. Someone please ban Pritam from the whole music composition scene.
