The man is back! With his lady, all-time favorite lyricist companion and a simply brilliant crew. Yes I’m talking about the great Vishal Bhardwaj, his lady Rekha Bhardwaj and writer Gulzar. Three names I wanna see on a soundtrack I’m buying. Three names to loosen my wallet. Ishqiya is Vishal’s latest flick starring Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles. The bold promos of Ishqiya have been out for some time now, the movie is coming by the end of January 2010. I won’t discuss the movie any further. Let’s talk about the soundtrack. The last time around Vishal came up with some really good stuff with Kaminey. He is known to give classic touches to soundtracks, he’s not the conventional Anu Mallik-Pritam styled Bollywood music composer. With expectations high on him this time around, does he deliver? Well if you don’t wanna read a long review and are just looking for an objective type answer, I’ll say Ishqiya is one of Vishal Bhardwaj’s best soundtracks. Go for quality than quantity here. Ishqiya’s music is a masterpiece. The likes of AR Rahman might find it hard to survive in the industry now.
