Truespace is a fully featured 3D authoring package from Microsoft. It used to be pretty expensive until Microsoft acquired it for it’s Visual Earth program and now it’s available totally free of cost! How cool is that? Truespace lets you build 3D models, enhance them with textures and lightning effects and more.
4. Expression Encoder 3.0
Expression Encoder is a tool that web developers can use for developing a rich media experience for users using Microsoft Silverlight. You can look at it from a video editor’s point of view. It allows you to import, view, edit clips apart from adding visual or audio overlays. There are a few limitations with the free edition but it’s totally worth a shot.
5. Windows SteadyState
Do you have kids at home who tend to mess around with your computer? Windows SteadyState allows you to take care of this problem. You can take a snapshot of the system at any given point of time and then no matter what changes to the system are made or files are deleted, the system will be back to it’s normal state upon a reboot.
