Lamb of God is back and how!! The self-professed (And by now, with them, countless others agree) “Pure American Metal” legends promised and delivered, an year long hiatus notwithstanding. ‘Wrath’, released 2/24/9 is vintage Lamb of God, truly ‘messing all subtlety’ (I was paid to write ‘messing’..you know the actual word)
For all of those who have been living in caves for the past 15 years, Lamb of God is a 5-member Heavy metal band thats been moshing the world over for over a decade and a half now; no surprise that the transgression of the band originally titled ‘Burn the Priest’ has seen it becoming Gods of its genre today.
‘Wrath’ is like an eleven headed dragon; its not evanescent..

‘Reclamation’ starts off as Nirvana would, probably..with grunge in its nerves;but when D Randall Blythe gets involved, you an forget all about how the track started. Its only the Journey that matters..”Humanity’s a failed experiment, walking on the path to extinction”..its verity. Period!
if i had a choice, i’d label ‘Broken Hands’ as ‘Bursting ears’. The song seems more like a suicide note written by a person staring in a mirror..”It only fell because you let it”..hello, put a bullet in my head and put an end to my misery!! Do not, and I mean DO NOT take it too seriously!! (“Dont try this at home or at school” thing). if there was ever a dementor ever, this is it..
The relentless Riffs in ‘Choke Sermon’ are too good to miss: the one song that’ll remind you of the ‘Laid to Rest’ days and the meteoric rise of the band. Christ, Where DO they get their lyrics from?!
The only dissapointment I felt in the album was ‘Contractor’(only a PERSONAL opinion). Invention is the offspring of Necessity and the song is a perfect example of it-to fill in the void between the previous and the next. I’ll avoid touching it any further-music taste is a touchy matter..
Anyone interested in Mythology?? Just go listen to ‘Dead seeds’..the song is full of references straight out of Hades..Probably they were trying sardonicism on the Bible..the end result is acceptable, though its Mark and Willie who save the day..
‘Everything to nothing’ has to be one of the most pessimistic songs ever created..has a ‘joe satriani riff’ as i’d like to call it towards the later half; Good song, though not all that special or out of the blue.
‘Fake Messiah’ is one song, you’ll never forget Chris Adler, the drummer for..need I say more??
My first reaction to ‘Grace’ was..’wow’..this is Boyzone..until D Randall Blythe ‘slew my dreams as quickly as they came’..Very good all over..reminded me of ‘God of War’.
‘In your words’ is my personal favourite- exceptional..has everything a Lamb of God song must have..’A sacred cash cow with sickly tits’ :wow..make me. ‘Refreshing’ usually aint an adjective for metal.. A Must listen for any fan..
‘Set to Fail’ is what i’d like to say to most of the people around me- The best part is you dont have to even listen to the song to love it..just go read the lyrics at anything or from anyone who can offer you..more industrial than metal, though. Undiluted, unaldulterated hate from the one who lets it out best..Hats off..
I was in shock for about 2 days after hearing ‘The Passing’..thats why i wrote this so late. God, this is Lamb of God???By the holy Ghost, if I’d heard this somewhere without prior knowledge, I’d have said it was Metallica. There is no bigger tribute that i can give to this track..
With due regards, this article is not meant for everyone who crosses it. If you do not know what Metal is all about, or even dont have an aptitude for metal, you will never understand why i wrote this..you are fortunate and unfortunate at the same time..unfortunate because what you were, are, and will continue to be deprived of something that changes life, beliefs and ideologies..fortunate because, well, ignorance is always a bliss..
