I recently wrote about how Microsoft is planning on launching it’s own smartphone device in the market which has been titled Zune Phone, due to it’s possible close relations with Zune’s UI. Long Zheng, an Australian blogger, has dug up the new update to Zune software and come up with some interesting information.
A component file residing in the Zune driver package confirms the Zune Phone. The file includes product IDs identifying three variants of the Zune Phone. This means Microsoft could come up initially with three different editions of the Zune Phone. Very interesting!
As I said earlier Microsoft’s Zune Phone might debut during the mobile world conference which is scheduled for February next month. If Microsoft can pull this off well, it might give Google’s Nexus One a run for it’s money. But then the so called Zune Phone will probably be a Windows Mobile 7 powered phone, will it be able to give Android a kick in the bottom? We’ll just have to wait and see!
