Vodafone has launched an unlimited wireless internet access package for it’s subscribers. The service is based on the existing Vodafone EDGE networks. The annual package also includes a free 3G USB Stick from Vodafone worth Rs. 2599. The package can prove handy for people who want to access internet remotely from their laptops.
Detailed Tariff for Vodafone 3G USB Stick Unlimited Internet Pack
The annual package costs Rs. 6999 and includes one year of unlimited internet access. However there’s no catch as such if you see the tariff on their official website regarding Fair Usage Policy(FUP) enforcement. As it is you won’t be able to swallow too much bandwidth since Vodafone’s EDGE networks are mostly choked at 15-18 kBps max.
That’s a neat buy since 3G is just around the corner in India. Vodafone is planning to launch it’s 3G services nationwide by the end of 2010. Vodafone has successfully won at the 3G auctions recently held in India. Still I would suggest you wait for 3G to launch officially. Signing up for a full one year commitment right now doesn’t seem frugal. If you really need remote connectivity go for Tata Photon + for now. If you’re keen on Vodafone then head here.
