Airtel Broadband launches 16 Mbps Plans

in Tech

Airtel Broadband has launched 16 Mbps high speed broadband plans for it’s customers across the country. Airtel was earlier providing a maximum speed of 8 Mbps on it’s ADSL network. There are two tariff plans that come with the speeds of 16 Mbps. Both of them cap your data transfer limit to 20GB, 50GB and are priced at Rs. 3000 and Rs. 5000 respectively. Apart from this the tariff plan also includes free calls worth Rs. 100. However the 16 Mbps speed is dependent on technical feasibility. It’ll be sweet if you’re located close to an exchange.

To me this comes as a surprise especially after a lot of speculations regarding Airtel Broadband’s fair usage policy coming into existence. It’s now confirmed that the fair usage policy has been implemented in Delhi/NCR as well.

Rather than showing off with hight bandwidth plans with usages capped a bit slower planes like 1-2mbps or more should be priced so that normal users can afford it… nd also at the same time Fair Usage Policies should be completely removed which has now been put up…

Y don’t service providers understand that it is necessary to provide freedom first for boom in the internet… ISP’s should take a lessop from telecom service providers who brought about boom in d sector faster than any sector by launching dirt cheap plans…

Why dont they remove the cap from download limit on higher speed plans.
I was in US and using Verizon FIOS with 20 Mbps plan with unlimited downloading allowed.

I was paying $140 for both unlimited phone and internet, which is quite cheaper if we compare it with indian plans

I am still waiting when our indian companies will start providing something like this.
