Airtel Broadband has decided to play Broadband-God during this season of IPL. Airtel has announced that it will automatically upgrade all it’s subscribers, irrespective of their current tariff plan, to 2 mbps for watching live stream of IPL on YouTube. Airtel broadband had recently also played Santa Claus while providing double the amount of promised data access speeds to all it’s users.
So it means I’ll be able to watch IPL on YouTube via Airtel Broadband without any buffer signs. With a 2 mbps line I am not even bothered about the 5 minute delay on all the IPL live coverage on YouTube. It works just fine unless you’re on Twitter and you get to know about a wicket falling and it ruins your stream. So stay off Twitter while watching the match.
If you look at the catch the announcement clearly indicates the offered speeds are only available 12th March to 25th April. Airtel also doesn’t promise you’ll get 2 mbps, it all depends on the traffic/bandwidth availability/situation. So you can’t complain about it.
