I just happened to come across a showcase tagged Airtel Digitial TV while paying an Airtel mobile phone bill.. It wore an empty look for obvious reasons. I had no idea Bharti Airtel was launching their DTH services across the nation. If they had that display panel ready, they must be on the verge of launching their DTH services. Excited, I came back home and did some Googling on the whole thing. It seems Airtel is indeed coming out with their DTH services in the month of October. That’ll be a soft launch. They do plan to launch their services in full swing before the end of this year.
Now that’s some hot news for the DTH world. With Reliance jumping in with their Big TV DTH services, Tata Sky struggling to hold on to consumers with attractive packages and Dish TV trying to make the maximum out of Shah Rukh Khan, here comes another player and a very major player I must say.
Come on Airtel kick some DTH ass!
Finally the services have been launched and indeed it has been named Airtel Digital TV!
Seems cool enough to me, plus a big point that it will work during the rains. Something lacking on Tata Sky, Dish TV.
