Music Review – Kambakkht Ishq

kambakkht ishq music review posterBollywood and Harry Jerry have both had a similar phase in the recent past. Dumb and low profile. With the multiplex-producers issue resolved and my exams over, we both can get back to irritating people and pursuing our million dollar dreams. I’ll get back to blogging with a music review of the upcoming flick Kambakkht Ishq. The Akshay-Kareena starrer is one of the most anticipated flicks of 2009. Well almost every other movie now comes with this ‘anticipated’ tag. The film is a comedy. I hope it turns out to be one.

The soundtrack for Kambakkht Ishq has been composed by Anu Malik. Now that’s why I had to think twice before posting a review. Anyways the title track sounded so good in the promos that I had to go give it a try. Turns out that the title track wasn’t really composed by Anu Malik, it’s a RDB creation. So does Anu Malik’s music stand out? Let’s find out!

The good folks at RDB, also known for their Bollywood numbers in Singh is Kinng, Aloo Chaat and Kambhakht Ishq, have released some new tracks in collaboration with some international artists. The first ever female Indian Idol winner and this is the kind of music we’re gonna get? I expect something more. She’s got talent no doubt but for God’s sake what’s with the music? This is certainly not Idol stuff.
