fwiw, I agree with you. Ghajini and SMD are not great by any standard. I was reading the reviews quoted in the comments and I disagree with Raja Sen’s review. He claims this is one of ARR’s better albums. Sorry, but would love to disagree.

This is being prompted by the latest Raja Sen review of kaminey praising it to high skies. An average album that too.

Everyone has a different opinion about everything on earth. The reviewer has posted his/her review as he/she felt and the people who have commented have posted their opinions and there is no point in one party trying to prove their hegemony over others just because they like/not like it.

I came to this site to gather some minute details in the jazz accompaniment of Behka. Well, I ended up getting nothing from it. I am looking for site where musicians have posted their reviews so that I get a better picture of the music.

The reviewer goes “AR Rahman needs a break…”

For 2009, he has (among more to come):

1 Golden Globe Award (India’s first) for Slumdog Millionare

3 Oscar Award Nominations for Best Original Song (O Saya / Jai Ho) and Best Original Score in Slumdog Millionaire

It is highly likely that AR Rahman will win Best Music in Hindi for 2008 to complement the above.

I think the reviewer needs a break from writing since he has no idea about the diversity of music. Ghajini’s songs are so different that they would fail to impress initially, but it is nevertheless an outstanding musical score. The music is intentionally commercial and leagues ahead of its time. Simply pathbreaking and worth placing in that huge rack of AR Rahman collections that you will have.

Tell you what.
I’v gone through this guy’s review of Yuvvraaj and now this Ghajini one.

Note my words. I will be very honest.

THIS GUY NEEDS MORE AND MORE VISITS AND COMMENTS and thats why he reviews ARR’s music like that, coz he has got a HUGGGGGGGGGGGE fan base and he knows MANY of them would reply here.

SO ITS JUST A WAY TO ADVERTISE AND BRING TRAFFIC.
