Here’s a look at the top 5 WTF reality shows currently on air.

Perfect Bride

They say marriages are made in heaven, they’ve got it all wrong. Marriages are now made on TV or I may say ‘fixed’ on national television. Why should Rakhi Sawant get to swallow all the popularity meat? So a couple of young not-really-hot-chicks decide to ride the I’ll-get-married-on-TV horse. They’re not alone, riding along with them are, hold on to your horses, mothers of their prospective grooms. Just to spare you of nightmares tonight I won’t even tell you how horrific the choice of judges and their role on the show is. This is by far the most ugliest, irritating and horrifying shows on national television.

Dance Premier League

Four seasons of Indian Idol have sucked all the juice from a country full of aspiring singers. Add to that countless little reality shows hunting for singers every now and then. So Sony decided to look for people who can dance. But then Boogie Javed Woogie Jaffrey would be scratching his bald brother’s head over why they weren’t consulted for this one. They weren’t even appointed judges as the channel crowned hopeless Arshad Warsi as of of the judges. The concept of the show is simply WTF. A bunch of teams compete against one another over dance. Seriously guys this is too much to bear.

Channel V Exhausted

Channel V, in my personal opinion, has always been such a wannabe. I mean they’re nowhere even close to what MTV is today. This is however my opinion. Every now and then they try to make their point but they just don’t have it. Exhausted is one show that clearly shows how desperate those folks up there are getting. Brainless maniacs is what I’ll call people who’d come up with shows like this. I’m sure Raghu Ram (the big daddy of reality shows) would love to kick their sweet arse for making us watch shows like this. But then we don’t always get what we want. Channel V’s Exhausted is one show for losers.

Pati, Patni aur Woh

At first glance any curious Indian television lover would love the title of this reality show. After watching the show, one would have an entirely different feeling. For starters, it’s just not exactly what the title suggests (of course we were expecting cheating hubbies and cat-fights) and what do we get? Loser couples trying to manage kids. I feel the Supreme Court should have banned the entire show instead of just taking out the infants. This could turn anyone suicidal.

Laughter Express

Laughter Express is a collection of clips from The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Now Sidhuisms are fine, they’re great, they’re digestible but when it comes to the insane laughter coming from the man himself on jokes that Seinfeld would best describe as un-laughable. Navjot Sidhu poses the biggest laughter challenge to show itself. Shekhar Suman couldn’t take it, he quit. We can’t take it either so we switch channels.

So Who Wants to Marry Rakhi Sawant?

News for all you Rakhi Sawant fans out there. Now you can bring your favorite drama queen home! All you have to do is woo her on national television, survive the show and you get to marry one of the most popular and talked about creature on national television. Rakhi Sawant is all set to choose between 15 prospective grooms on a brand new reality show called Rakhi Ka Swayamvara on national television. Rakhi had earlier broken up with her previous boyfriend. I guess that also made it to one of the TV channels.

Of course our TV channels are out of ideas. They’re bringing back the ugly duck back on TV now. Expect a lot of drama, tears (fake of course) and yes, a lot more drama again. After all it’s Rakhi Sawant. I wonder if Mika is still interested?!

Anyways, here’s wishing, the guy who finally gets through, a whole lot of good luck in life.

So what made you participate in MTV Splitsvilla 2?
- Whenever i would watch MTV, i would feel the urge in me to be there one day. I felt that I belonged there. Not here, sitting and watching. So with this I in mind I chose to be at splitsvilla.

What’s your idea of a ‘twisted tale of love’?
- Well, I believe when its love its simple. It can not be crooked and it cant be twisted.

Who is your favorite contestant on the show and why?
- Ashutosh was my favourite contestant on the show because he has a heart of gold. Unfourtunately, he did not last long here but with the kind of attitude towards life that he has,, he’ll go to places.

Apart from yourself, who is the other person on the show you’d love to see winning the show?
- if I do not win the show, i’ll definitely want Ritika to win. She is innocence personified.

Money, fame, men. Arrange them in order of priority.
- fame>money> men. fame leads to money and money and fame together lead to…..’its raining men’….lol

If you’re given a chance to modify the format of the show, what is the one thing that you’ll change and one new thing you’ll introduce to the show?
- I believe the show has been desgined real good and I have nothing to offer.

What are your views on the upcoming General Elections in India and whom will you vote for?
- well, i am really looking forward to these very elections in particular. After i turned 18, this is for the 1st time i’ll participate in general elections at the centre (provided I am back ). well who i vote for is a secret.

Any career plans in showbiz?
- Why not ? i am open to all the options now… lets see what future has in store for me. I got a platform and now its the time to leap.

Did you watch the first season of Splitsvilla?
- yes, i did watch season 1. But I had no idea at all that i’d sitting there itself in the season 2 lol.

Any last words for your fans?
- the amount of faith and the trust that i see in you, has me overwhlemed. I hope and try that I never let you all down. I never say that i am the prettiest here, all i say is that i am beautiful… and so are you.

How to Watch Star TV Channels Online?

Star Network India has come up with a brand new online service that lets users watch Star TV channels online. The service is titled Star Player and features content from almost all Star Network channels including Star TV, Star One, Star Movies, Star News, Star World, Star Gold and Channel [V].

Star Player is currently in public beta. It features complete episodes of shows which are divided into 3-4 clips. Once the service would be officially launched you will be able to watch your favorite TV shows from Star Network online.

The videos on Star Player allow you to customize various properties such as color, brightness, contrast and you can also choose between a smooth or a sharp video display. The quality of videos is of course much better than YouTube.

The service is bound to generate a lot of traffic for sure. It’s a great way to watch all your missed episodes on Star TV channels. I hope the other national channels are watching closely and follow the same path.

We Indians love to watch superheros. We’ve always been used to the epic Ramayan and the Mahabharat. Heroes just fulfills that modern day hunger for something supernatural. Watching ordinary people with extraordinary capabilities adds to the icing on the cake.

Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives is like any other Indian saas-bahu show but with an ultra glossy look, interesting stories and rich characters. All that comedy-drama thing really keeps one glued to their TV screens craving for some more bitching housewives’ secrets.

Lost

I really love the whole concept of a plane crashing on a scary little island with super healing powers and then mysterious creatures and people coming out of nowhere. Add time travel to that and you have a perfect prime time show we’d love to watch. The whole whats-gonna-happen-next feeling drives me crazy!

Prison Break

We Indians are used to watching hopeless criminals and revenge-seeking heroes escaping prisons in the most disgusting unreal ways. Prison Break is a fresh change for us that we love to watch. It’s great to watch Michael Scofield kick some real butt in prison cells, the Company’s mysterious little plans and all that action.

House M.D

House is a medical drama that is not only interesting but gives you food for thought. A very well thought concept makes the show stand out. I love Hugh Laurie’s performance as Dr. House in the show. A must-see show for all those who are medically curious (whatever that means) and paranoid freaks like me.

How to Watch TV Online?

I’ve tried a lot of tools and utilities for watching TV online but sadly none of them worked for me. Recently I came across another AnyTV Player and decided to give it a try. There are two versions of the program. One is paid and supports certain TV channels which are locked in the free version of the software. The free version is easy to download and install.

Using the free version you can watch thousands of TV channels online along with some radio channels as well. I tried watching some Indian TV channels and it really worked well. You’ll need a broadband connection to watch these TV channels online. I’m using a 256 kbps connection but I’ll recommend you use a 512 kbps broadband connection for optimal performance. So who is the MTV Roadies 6 Winner?

MTV Roadies 6 is now left with just 10 contestants out of the 20 hell mates selected during auditions. This year’s edition of MTV Roadies has not even been close to the standards set by the previous seasons. The show is almost half way and Raghu Ram is expected to show up during the next episode this Saturday. I’m expecting some wild card entries and announcements on the Australian edition of the show. And since we’re half way during this season of MTV Roadies it is obvious that every single day you get mails, text and IMs about who won MTV Roadies 6. Do you want to know who won MTV Roadies 6? Come in!

We’re now left with ten contestants, namely, Suzzanna, Sandeep, Pradeep, Paulami, Bobby, Devarshi, Tammanna, Samrat, Timung and Roop. It’s clear the next episode isn’t anywhere close to Australia. So one more down. We’ll be left with 9 contestants by the end of this week. Expect some wild card entries, I’d say 1 or 2 at least. Sufi is confirmed. Sonia Chauhan or Gurmeet could be the other wild card entry hopefuls. So in all there could be around 10-12 contestants who could make it to the Australian trip.

Regarding the whole issue about who won MTV Roadies 6, as per rumors Sufi is the winner. I don’t agree with that at all. Sufi will make a wild card entry to the show and the MTV Roadies 6 preview which showed Sufi boxing certainly confirms his re-entry to MTV Roadies 6. There could be another voted-out Roadie along with him. The winner last year for MTV Roadies 5 was well known to almost everyone since the finale was shot well in advance. Mr. Raghu Ram’s brain has worked this time and folks, the finale is yet to be shot. So that means two hungry MTV Roadies 6 hell mates are still out there. Why so? MTV is running a contest where you’ll get a chance to feature on the show’s finale. Duh!

So it’s obvious the winner is still undecided which is a pretty good thing. The thing is who are the two finalists of MTV Roadies 6? One could be Sufi and the other could be anyone. Anyways the game is still on guys!

Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi 2

Akshay Kumar is all set to hit the small screen with Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 2 later this year on Colors channel. Akshay has had a tough time convincing people to watch his flick CC2C which went down badly at the box office. Khatron Ke Khiladi is the Indian version of Fear Factor and this would be the second season, titled ‘Level 2′. The show comprises of only female contestants. Or divas as the show claims.

The second season promises to include double the stunts. This year the show will involve 13 divas along with 13 partners comprising of both men and women (read as common men and women) who will help these divas in their stunts. If their partner wins then these common men and women get to take home some goodies too! Last year the show was quite a wet blanket. I am hoping they’d improve on things this season. In case you’re interested in being a partner to those mysterious hot and sizzling divas on the show, here’s your chance.
