
Airtel Broadband recently handed out sugar coated lollipops to it’s subscribers with double speeds on unlimited broadband connections and a free 2 Mbps upgrade for watching IPL matches on YouTube. Airtel certainly went out of it’s way to become a non-seasonal Santa Claus. What didn’t get most of the attention was the silly little thing called the fair usage policy. It’s the one ingredient Airtel didn’t mention anywhere on the lollipop wrapper.

Airtel Broadband has decided to play Broadband-God during this season of IPL. Airtel has announced that it will automatically upgrade all it’s subscribers, irrespective of their current tariff plan, to 2 mbps for watching live stream of IPL on YouTube. Airtel broadband had recently also played Santa Claus while providing double the amount of promised data access speeds to all it’s users.
So it means I’ll be able to watch IPL on YouTube via Airtel Broadband without any buffer signs. With a 2 mbps line I am not even bothered about the 5 minute delay on all the IPL live coverage on YouTube. It works just fine unless you’re on Twitter and you get to know about a wicket falling and it ruins your stream. So stay off Twitter while watching the match.
