Music Review: Karz

himesh reshammiya karz music review

No I’m not a Himesh Reshammiya fan but I must admit that I really like some of his songs. I do listen to some of his tracks once in a while. All sad ones. I don’t think he’s a real singer. It’s just that somehow the voice coming out of his nasal chamber matches the music in the background along with some well penned down lyrics. It’s been a while since he came out with that kind of noise…err…I mean music. After all this time one expects an iota of quality from him at least. After his last movie Aap Ka Suroor flopped badly at the box-office, Himesh is out with a brand new flick Karz. Karz has been produced by T-Series. The film has been directed by Satish Kaushik. The film is slated for a Diwali release.

Coming back to the music of Karz, I must say everyone is going to feel really disappointed. Himesh fails miserably as far as the music of Karz goes. The tracks don’t have any special flavor. The lyrics are mediocre to say the least. The music isn’t up to the mark. And Himesh sucks as far as singing goes. The title track Lut Jaaon Lut Jaaon includes a rip off of the track Punjab by Karunesh. Although Himesh hasn’t made any use of his horific nasal chamber in this soundtrack, he still manages to piss off a lot of music lovers. Tracks like Masha Allah, Sisak Sisak Ke, Soniye Je Tere are all pure noise. Tandoori Nights is the worst track I have ever heard. I understand a usual Bollywood soundtrack needs one masala item track but this is just way too much. Tandoori Chicken should sue Himesh for using their trademark in this song and trying to cash in on it’s popularity. Dhoom Tere Ishq Ki and Tere Bin Chain Na Aave almost qualify for Bhajans. Ek Haseena Thi is tolerable upto a certain extent. If you bought this CD from a music store you might as well throw it away or donate it to an auto-rikshawallah!

Himesh Reshammiya should be banned by the Central Government. We can’t tolerate the noise anymore. Wait! The wedding season is almost here. I’m afraid the desi wedding DJs would be playing his music all over. Ahhh!!!

Movie Review: Rock On!!

rock on farhan akhtar movie review

Absolutely brilliant rocking stuff! Rock On lives up to the hype and the expectations I had from the film. Farhan Akhtar is a great actor. Arjun Rampal is awesome as usual. Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli deliver their part pretty well. So do they girls in the movie. The music is simply the best. A total rock concert feeling. Don’t dare miss this one!

The best Bollywood movie of 2008 so far!

MTNL TriBand Broadband slashes prices!

mtnl broadband reduce prices

MTNL Broadband service TriBand has reduced it’s pricing for various broadband tariff plans. MTNL is all set to kick some major ass in the broadband service provider segment. At a time when TRAI is all screwed up with it’s broadband policy issues, MTNL’s price reduction could provide a much needed lifeline for broadband users in major metros. MTNL broadband has reduced it’s unlimited data transfer packages from Rs. 799 per month to Rs. 599 per month for a 256 kbps broadband connection. It is also providing 100 free calls with the same tariff plan. A very smart plan offered by MTNL faces a rotten egg right on the face with another tariff plan introduced by MTNL. The new plan provides the user with a speed of upto 2 mbps for only Rs. 99 per month. But wait! Don’t rush to the MTNL office yet, the plan includes a data cap of just 150 MB. So it evens out the whole thing. Some dumb asses as well as some smart people reside at MTNL Broadband. MTNL has also reduced registration charges by Rs. 100 and Modem security by Rs. 200.

Currently Airtel offers a 256 kbps unlimited broadband connection for Rs. 799. BSNL Broadband service Dataone offers the same for Rs. 750. Airtel could feel the heat in the metros served by MTNL Broadband. Airtel is expected to reduce it’s prices as well. People would obviously opt for MTNL as there’s a price difference of almost Rs.200 along with free 100 local calls. Way to go MTNL Broadband!

Here is the updated tariff plan list for MTNL Broadband service Triband:

Microsoft makes a fool out of people!

microsoft mojave experiment

What do you do when you make a crappy OS and everyone knows the level of crap you put in there? You look for innocent people who aren’t fully aware of your crap and you fool them. That’s exactly what Microsoft did. They called it The Mojave Experiment. Microsoft looked for people who’ve never used Windows Vista and decided to fry their ass by faking Windows Vista as codename “Mojave”, the next Microsoft OS.

According to Microsoft 94% of the fried asses rated the OS higher than they initially rated Windows Vista. Now why and how did they rate Windows Vista without even using it? Just look at those poor innocent people in the videos. I don’t know what Microsoft showed them that got them really excited about Windows Vista.

It’s clear that Microsoft is aiming to impress people who are not even aware that Windows Vista exists. IT managers have cited Vista’s resource requirements, intrusive security features, and lack of compatibility with older software among their reasons for not moving to the OS. I have to use Vista because no Linux distro supports my keyboard.
